![]() The connection with the WP was not built until 1928. Initially the new line only connected with the SP at Wells. The line was completed into Wells in early 1926. Union Pacific contracted with the Utah Construction Company to build the line, and work started in the spring of 1924. The Union Pacific through the Oregon Short Line purchased the Idaho Central in 1923. ![]() The Idaho Central never accomplished any actual work on contruction of the line, and by 1923 the company was placed up for sale. An independant railroad called the Idaho Central was organized in 1920 to build south of Rogerson towards Wells. By 1910 a line south to Rogerson, ID was completed.
